I have been writing stories all my life but I tried out lots of different careers before I decided to follow my childhood passion and write books for a living.

My first book, Moondance, a picture book for young children, was published by Andersen Press in 2004. Since then, I have published many different books for teenagers and young people. 

 

In 2007, Faber and Faber published my young adult novel Red Tears, a story about a teenage girl who turns to self-harm, which was critically prasied and shortlisted for the Lancashire Book Award. Red Tears has a dedicated website at www.red-tears.com
